Team Selection

At Lake Elmo Baseball Association, team placement is earned. Our evaluation process is designed to be thorough, fair, and consistent — giving every player a genuine opportunity to show what they can do.

How Evaluations Work

Players are evaluated and scored across multiple repetitions of various baseball fundamentals by experienced coaches selected by our Board of Directors. Players are ranked and placed on teams based on performance, talent, and approach to the game. Post-season feedback from a player's previous year coach is also taken into account.

Tryouts

Starting in 2026, Lake Elmo Baseball will hold tryouts in both the fall and spring. Fall tryouts give families more lead time and allow players to secure their spot ahead of the upcoming season. Spring tryouts follow our Winter Workouts, giving players who have been training all winter a chance to show their improvement before final team selections are made.

After Selections Are Made

Once a player has been placed on a posted team, all tryout and registration fees are nonrefundable.

You must live or attend school within the School District 834 boundaries to be eligible to make a team.
